Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Database Professionals trial edition requires Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite be installed before you install Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Database Professionals trial edition.

It makes it pretty tough to use a trial version if you have to buy it first. If I had Team Suite, I "probably" wouldn't be installing the trial…

Hilarious. I was going to try this too, but I guess I'll wait a while. :)

If you have the "Developer" SKU, it may still work for you. Unfortunately, I only have the "Professional" SKU through my employer.

I'm using it with the Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server 180-Day Trial (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/teamsystem/aa718825.aspx). You'll also need an edition of SQL Server 2005 installed locally.

@Tiago
Interesting... I wouldn't have guessed that would work. Thanks for making me aware of that option. Unfortunately, I just can't bring myself to install the team system trial just to run VSTS for DBAs. It just seems like too much trouble to try out, but maybe I'm just too lazy :-)
